Mid-Week Chat 2-4-15

Mid-Week Chat - Diving into God's Word with Lil' Paper Crumbs

It has been several weeks since I posted a Mid-Week Chat. My life has been a series of ups and downs for sometime now. I just got separated from my husband, only 1 month ago. I rung in the new year in a new home, new town and new state.

But today it was placed on my heart to have our little chat and
share with you some things that God has been doing in my life.

Moving forward is hard. Even when you feel like you can't do it, if you just let God have control and listen to His spirit, He will guide you and be with you. I am reminded of the poem Footprints.

All to often we forget that God is in control and never leaves us.
The Bible say "Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden light." Matthew 11:29 & 30

What a beautiful thing to rest in! He doesn't promise us no work or no burdens, but he does promise that with Him, it will be easier than if we go it alone. God is faithful! He has proven to me time and time again, that if I trust in him daily and be obedient, He will provide for me.

What has He done for you lately? How have you seen the provisions of God in your life?

Mid-Week Chat 12/10/14 ~ James 1:19

Mid-Week Chat ~ Diving into God's Word @lilpapercrumbs.blogspot.com

Hi there! I hope so far your week has been well. Today I am going to share with you the newest verse that I am trying to memorize and apply to my life. Do you memorize Bible verses? It's not just for little one. We are to hide His words in our hearts. (Psalms 119:11) The best way I see to do that is memorize and live out God's word.

James 1:19

Like so many of us, I am quick to speak harshly and be angry. I wish that wasn't the case. All to often, it is. My desire is to learn and practice the words of this verse. Not only do I deserve better than to be angry all the time, but most importantly my children deserve better.

The first part of this verse is very important too. "be slow to speak," Wow! My mouth opens way too fast most of the time. Words come to my brain and I open my lips and let them spill out. How about you? How often do you find words just tumbling out? If your like me, it's all the time. I wonder how many things I miss hearing because I just jump to talking.

Let us be slow to speak and slow to anger. We deserve it and so do our family members. With God's help, we can make this verse come alive. I pray that we that do that.

Mid-Week Chat 12/3/14

Hi you guys! I hope you are having a good week so far. I have come to a conclusion about our little mid-week chats. A new direction needs to be taken. It has been put it on my heart that I need to be in the Bible more. So I wanted to start sharing the Bible with you, during our mid-week chats.

Mid-Week Chat: Diving into God's Word with Lil' Paper Crumbs

For this week we are going to be reading Romans 8:18-39. The translation I am using is Holman Christian Standard. Just for a little background on the book of Romans. Romans was written by the apostle Paul. This book is a letter to the Romans, whom Paul refers to as "God's beloved in Rome."(1:7).

This section in my Bible is titled From Groans to Glory. Wow! What a statement that makes.
The very first verse of this section speaks volumes to me.

"For I consider that the suffering of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us." vs.18

What a statement! Even though they were suffering, the glory to come will FAR surpass the agony they are enduring. I believe with all my heart that God never changes. So considering what Paul is saying here, we can apply this to our sufferings in the current day.

This passage is speaking about eternally saving us, as well our present earthly adversity. Moving forward in the passage we are encouraged that the Holy Spirit comes to us. He comes to comfort and to help. Intercession is made on our behalf by Him when we have no words. It says that even He just groans and God understands.(vs.26-27) Such peace fills me to think that the Holy Spirit speaks on my behalf. The comfort that comes from the Presence of God can not be compared to anything I have ever felt.

The last section of this passage is speaking about how nothing can separate us from God's love. NOTHING!! He loves us so much that He sent His son to die!! I know that I can't never love someone so much that I would offer one of my children to save them. Not ever. Really wrap your mind around that. God offered His son to die for YOU!

If you haven't accepted Jesus as the Savior of the world and of you personally, Why not do it today? What are you waiting for? It is never too late!! Let me pray for you and me right now.

Dear Heavenly Father,
I ask you now that you speak to the person reading this. May you send your Holy Spirit to comfort them and let them know that you want to be in their lives. We ask for forgiveness of all our wrong doings and desire to turn from them forever. We know that you gave your son, Jesus as a living sacrifice for us. Please send your Holy Spirit down to us, for guidance and comfort. May we continue to be in your word daily and rest upon your promises.
Amen

Thank you for coming by and reading my Mid-Week Chat: Diving into God's word.

Mid-Week Chat 11/19/14

Hi there, y’all! I hope you are having a good week. Here is how my week has gone so far.
Sunday was a rough day for me. I went to bed Saturday feeling very dizzy. Then I woke up Sunday still feeling dizzy. I was dizzy all day. My 2 older boys helped me with the chores and the baby. They were big helpers that day.

Monday came and I felt back to normal. I’m not sure what was going on, but I am sure glad it is done! Feeling dizzy is the pits. Monday evening I folded about 4 loads of laundry and put it away. All except for the summer clothes and clothes that needed to be hung up.

Tuesday was a pain. My baby, Benjamin wouldn't nap unless he was laying on me. So I didn't really get much done. He did nap off of me for about 15 minutes. During that time I hung up the clothes from yesterday. I didn't get the summer clothes away. But I will. I also while he was playing, emptied a tote and got rid of unwanted craft stuff. (unwanted craft stuff? What’s that? LOL) I ended the day with hot chocolate with peppermint marshmallows! Yummy!

Today I will be going to my oldest son’s school. He is participating in his school spelling bee. I’m so excite for him! He won second place in his class. So now it’s on to competing against the other students in 8th grade. If he wins, next is county wide spelling bee. We shall see.

To wrap things up, I just wanted to leave you with these few Bible verses.

James 1:19-27 New International Version (NIV)
19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. 21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

I know that I am quick to speak and to get angry and that is not good. I try so hard to embody this set of verses. I pray that today you can do the same.

Mid-Week Chat 11/5/14

So this post may be a big let down. I was really busy this week and didn't take notes for my Mid-Week Chat. Because of that, I don't really have anything to write about. LOL
Being the mom of 3 boys, my brain forgets things if I don't write them down.

I promise next week will be better! Also, I will post an end of the week chat to make up for today's post.

Mid-Week Chat 10/29/14

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and are having a good week. My kids had a 3 day weekend due to a teacher work day. To kick off the weekend, we attended a school, movie night event! It was great! It was held outside and they showed the movie on a portable stage with a screen. This thing was really cool!! One of the local Churches lets the school use it for events such as that.

Because the event started at 6pm, we brought food with us. Little Caesar's has $5 pizzas, so we got 2. I also popped popcorn at home and brought that. We packed up soda and lots of blankets. It was so cold and we were very grateful for the blankets.

The movie was Soul Surfer. I don't know if you have ever watched that movie, but I HIGHLY recommend watching it! It is about Bethany Hamilton, a pro surfer with one arm. The movie lays out for you all about how she lost her arm and her amazing faith in God. This movie is very inspiring and entertaining. No bad words, no sex, just a good movie.

Soul Surfer

Saturday we celebrated my youngest son's 1st birthday! It had bumpy start but over all, it went really well. We had it outside with close friends and family. Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy!

1st Bday Cupcakes

Sunday the kiddos and I went to church and the baby stayed in the nursery the WHOLE time! He hardly ever does that. I guess he is getting better at being away from mommy.
After church was Neighborhood Groups (small groups). We talked about the sermon from that morning and fellowshiped with one another. The sermon from that morning can be heard hear Wendover Hills - Honoring your mother and father.

While listening to the sermon a few things stuck out to me. Without following the first 4 commandments, you can't expect good results in getting your kids to follow the 5th commandment which is Honor your father and mother. I never really thought about that. I have since taken the time to sit back and look at how well I obey the first 4 commandments.

The first 4 commandments are as follows:

  1. You shall have no other gods before Me.
  2. You shall not make idols.
  3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
  4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
I don't worship anyone but God. So I'm good there. I don't have idols. No golden calves hiding around my house. Taking the Lord's name in vain. . . That answer was a tough pill to swallow. We had talked about that 2 weeks ago in Neighborhood Groups. How it is all too easy to take God's name in vain and not even realize it. How many times do I say "Thank the Lord!" and I'm not really thanking him. Or how about "OMG!". How many of us use that one. I don't use OMG, but I do say "Thank the Lord" without even really meaning it. Like "Thank the Lord I was able to find my keys." Do I really mean that? No I was just saying it. I found that to be depressing.

So what my pastor was saying, is that If we follow the first 4 commandments with all our hearts and to the best of our abilities, our children will follow right along into #5.
Honoring your parents is a whole lot easier if your parents are following God.

Monday we had fun with Jelly Belly Bean Boozled Beans. Click here to watch the videos on my Youtube Channel. Don't forget to thumbs up my video and leave me a comment.

Yesterday I visited a local scrapbooking store and got some really pretty stamps. I also bought some new paper and embossing glitter. I created a card with 2 of my new stamps. If you wanna see, just click here to see my post about it. I'm really happy how it turned out.

Well, that's about it folks. I hope I didn't bore ya. Talk to ya next week!

Mid-Week Chat 10/22/14

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a good week. My week has been OK.

Sunday was my husband's Birthday.
I made steamed California Blend (broccoli, cauliflower and carrots) and Gnocchi with spinach and cream sauce. For desert I had made a Blanch Mange with Banana (corn starch English pudding). The sad thing is, it didn't turn out. When I had put it in the refrigerator, it was set and thick like a pudding. When I took it out the next day....IT WAS SOUP! I was so upset!! I left the room crying. I felt like I had completely ruined everything. But after my pity party, I had an idea. We have an electric ice cream maker. I thought I could turn it into ice cream. And I did! It was so yummy! I had even made homemade whipped cream for on top. So the next day we had banana pudding ice cream with homemade whipped cream!

Tuesday I cleaned some around the house and made something so cool for my kids. I had seen this really cool DIY video on Youtube from SeaLemon. Here is the link DIY recycled candy box book. I made one for each of my older boys and one for me! They were really easy and they are SO cute! Thanks, SeaLemon!

Here are some photos. Please leave me your comments down below!

Mid-Week Chat 10-14-14

Hi everybody! I hope so far you have had a good week. My week so far has been ok. Monday was uneventful. I did get to sleep in though! My husband got up with the boys, so the baby and I could sleep in. Normally the baby wakes up at 6 am anyway. But Monday I was lucky enough that he slept in till 8 am. I did go to Walmart to pick up some medicine. Also I had a McDonald’s Monopoly coupon for a free medium fry. So I went and got that. Yummy! French Fries!! Other than that, nothing but the usual stuff.

Tuesday Benjamin and I had a WIC appointment. For those of you with small children you understand how dreadful this can be. We got there at 8:05 am and didn’t get out until 10:30 am! The really sad thing is my ‘appointment’ time was at 8:15 am. But the good thing is I have WIC checks and that is what is most important. I am so grateful for the assistance! Without WIC, I would have to spend about $100 - $125 more a month on my groceries. It doesn’t cover much. It only covers milk, eggs, peanut butter, cereal, bread, cheese, beans and juice. But we are blessed to receive any and all help. We also get a produce check for $8 once a month. So that is great too!

Be on the lookout for my newest video! It is a DIY paper punch pumpkins.
Say that 3 times fast! LOL
I also will be posting another video some time really soon. My 13 year old son, Allen is going to do his first DIY video.

Thanks for stopping by for my mid-week chat!

Mid-Week Chat 10/8/14

So far this week has been ok. My youngest little boy had his 1 year checkup on Monday. The poor fellow had to have his finger pricked and 4 shots! But the good news is that he is growing and he is healthy!

Also this week I had a 1st time experience. I went to The Rush with my friend Vicky. I worked out on the elliptical machine and the stationary bike. The also really cool thing was my 13 year old kept the baby while I went! He is growing up to be such a responsible young man!

Enough about my week. I wanted to ask y'all a few questions.
For those who blog. Do you plan out every blog post? Or do you 'wing it' with some? Also, do you blog every day? Or just when you feel like it?

I am trying to get a feel for what I want from my blog and how I want to set things up. I know that I don't want to get burned out by doing to much, too quick. My biggest thing I guess, is figuring out a schedule/routine for my blogging.

Well, I'm gonna jet off of here. I'm working on a new DIY video for you guys.
So be on the look out for it in the next few days!

Mid-Week Chat (A day late) 10/2/14

Hi, All! I can't believe I missed my mid-week chat! Well, I guess I'm just a day late and a dollar short. Speaking of money. I hate feeling so broke all the time! Don't you? It seems like the day my husbands pay check comes in.....Poof!....All the money is gone!  Well, not all of it. But the majority of it. So I am trying my best to figure out some way to bring money in while staying at home. I don't want to go into Mary Kay or anything similar to that. If you have any ideas. Please leave me a comment below.

So this week has been interesting. My husband pulled 2 extra shifts on Monday. He left for work 6 am Monday and got home around 8 am Tuesday. Then slept all day and went right back to work Tuesday night! He looked like a zombie when he got home Tuesday morning. Wednesday was a good day. I went and spent some time with 2 of my best friends. My son played with his little buddy and then we went over to see another friend. There he played with a bunch of dogs. It was funny!

So today started out strange. We got a knock on our door at 5 am. Hubby answer the door with his trusty 9mm tucked away. It was the downstairs neighbor. She was asking if we had left water running in the bathroom. Confused, he said "No. Why?". She proceeded to tell him that there was water flowing from her ceiling and flooding her bathroom. Long story short, a pipe behind our toilet, in the wall, broke. The good news is we don't have any water damage up here. Bad new is. We have a 1 1/2 - 2 ft hole cut into our wall in the hall bathroom. So seeing as we have cats, the door HAS TO STAY SHUT!  I really don't like the idea of having to call the fire department to rip apart the wall to get my cat out.

So to de-stress from the day, I made something, My door has looked naked long enough. So I made a wreath for it. Here it is!!

I made it out of things I had just lying around the house. Some hemp twine, newspaper, a cracker box and the pine cone 'flowers' my oldest son found for me. I think they are so pretty! He spent a good 15 minutes finding me these things and others so I could use them in a craft. Such a sweet kiddo!

Well, I'm gonna jet.

Mid-Week Chat 9/1014

Hi there, everybody! I hope that your week has been going well so far. Mine started out pretty crappy. My husband had a small fender bender on Monday and the back hatch glass on my car got shattered out. The really bad news is that we didn't have comprehensive coverage! So we had to pay for it out of pocket. Good news is that I shopped around and found the best price in town!

So for some good news...hum? I can't really think of any. You know what? That is sad. I have plenty of things to be thankful for!! My kids are happy and healthy. We have a roof over our heads and food in our bellies. I have employment and so does my husband. That is just a few! But the biggest thing is I have God who loves me and takes care of my every need. As He said in His word,

Matthew 6:25-27
25"For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26"Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27"And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?.

Well, I had better get off of here. The baby is currently happy in his play pen. So I better make the most of it!

Mid-Week Chat 9/3/14

Hi, everybody! So at the start of this week was Labor day. I know for a lot of kids, this week is their first week of school. For those families, I wish you a great week! For my kiddos, this is the second week.

So far this week has pretty uneventful school wise. The boys have brought home a form or two for me to fill out. But other than that, not really anything exciting. Which is good for my boys!
This coming up Saturday, my middle son,Zach's school is having a kickball play day. He is really excited about it. The great thing about this event is that it's for the whole family and has free food! Can't shake a stick at that!!

I worked 2 days already this week. I'm hoping to work 2 more, Thursday and Friday. Busy, Busy, Busy! So I made a commitment that so far I haven't kept. I committed to making a DIY video last week. So far I haven't followed through. I'm sorry for that. I don't know when I'll have the time to make it. But I promise to try and make it soon.

Mid-Week Chat

Hi there to all you wonderful people out there in the great beyond! This is my Mid-Week Chat. I plan on having one of these every week. So be looking for it.

So far this week my 2 oldest kids have started a new school year. My oldest son, Allen, is an 8th grader and my middle son, Zachariah is a 3rd grader. It wasn't really hard putting Zach on the bus, but when Allen got on that bus for the first time as an 8th grader, I had to keep from crying. It is hard to imagine my little boy is in his last year in middle school. Only 5 more years and he will graduate high school. It was also hard for me because I have been homeschooling Allen. So I am worried and scared of what the public school will hold for him this time around.

First 2 days went swimmingly for both older boys. But Benjamin on the other hand isn't dealing with it too well. He has been clingy and fussy for the past 2 days. Hopefully today will be better for him. It doesn't help that he is cutting a new tooth. Benny is so miserable when he is teething.

I work for Pizza Hut and work stuff is a little weird right now. We are opening a new location in town for my particular store. But it has been delayed. The really bad thing is that they had already started closing down the old store. So now we are part in one store and part in another. I am just thankful that all the customers I have encountered have been understanding. I work today, so I just hope it is the same today with people.

So now for just a little fun stuff. I am going to try my had at making a tutorial video sometime in the next week. So what do you think I should do? How to make paper medallions or butterfly embellishments? Leave me a comment and let me know.

Erin
